Industry On checking in the garage all lights were not working and all appliances (e.g. freezer and fridge) had turned off. I assumed that power to the garage had therefore been
Industry I am using a Dell n5050 laptop, recently I noticed that I have a problem with my laptop. Namely, the power LED always stays on after shutting down the laptop. I''ve found two options: long press of the power switch will turn the LED off;
Industry Two days ago I woke up and my laptop (VivoBook_ASUSLaptop X580GD_N580GD) didn''t turn on unless it was plugged in, but when on windows battery icon
Industry Regarding the battery light issue, I tried charging it until the light turned blue and removed the charger. The blue light was still on but only for a little while before turning off, so that''s an improvement. I will keep monitoring the laptop, hopefully the next time it I
Industry Received two battery packs from BT. Plugged in according to the instructions (I think) but after four days the battery''s red light with an X through it is still on. Looking at the instructions, this says that it is because the battery has reached the
Industry Remove the thermostat from its position on the wall. (Remember to cut all power to the thermostat before removing it.) Remove the battery cover and remove the batteries. Wait for 15 minutes and then replace the batteries and the cover. Locate the hardware reset button on the side of the thermostat. It is a circle button labeled “H.W. Reset”.
Industry The battery is fully charged. The battery/power indicator light is flashing on the laptop. If I unplug the power adaptor, the laptop instantly turns off. All drivers are up to date. I''ve shutdown & restarted, also removed battery and tried to power up. I''ve run "troubleshooters" but no fault detected. Any help is appreciated.
Industry Keep the battery disconnected for approximately 5-10 minutes to allow any residual power to dissipate. By doing so, you''ve reset the ABS of your vehicle; Now, it''s time to replace the battery. Reconnect your car battery and set everything as they were; Turn on the ignition and let the engine idle for some time.
Industry Every now and then, if I finished charging my laptop and unplug the cord (doesnt matter if the laptop was dead or alive), the battery status would still persisted on "plugged in,
Industry With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.
Industry The positive power supply or VDD is clearly where you supply something like 5 volts. It would be like taking a 5 volt battery and connecting the positive end with a wire to the VDD pin. But the ground pin is always connected to the "negative" power supply or the negative part of the battery.
Industry On checking in the garage all lights were not working and all appliances (e.g. freezer and fridge) had turned off. I assumed that power to the garage had therefore been disconnected. I cut through the cable, fortunately with a rubber handled pair of cutters, only to discover that power was still flowing and tripped the RCD in the consumer unit.
Industry After 15 seconds, connect the power cable to the computer. The LED light turns on for 3 seconds and then turns off. If the BIST LED turns on, the power supply is delivering power to the computer. If the BIST LED does not
Industry My inbuilt battery has started swelling and does not charge past 30%. And while doing some heavy tasks like gaming the battery drains even while plugged in, and after battery drainage to about 6% the laptop just shutdowns itself. I don''t want to change the battery as this laptop is already a few yea...
Industry did some research according to what I found. a dead CMOS battery could only affect the time/dates and bios settings but don''t prevent the pc from starting at all.. but I will try changing it...
Industry As the title says, I went to unplug the AC adapter from my laptop, but the charging LED is still glowing, and now my computer won''t even turn on. I have already tried methods like removing the...
Industry So I was unable to get it to boot to 3200mhz. I tried removing the CMOS battery and replaced it after a couple minutes (I had to remove the graphics card to get at it...and yes, I switched off the psu, unplugged, and tapped the power button a few times to drain any juice in the system). I put the graphics card back in and then attempted to boot.
Industry The green PB_PWR LED on my motherboard stays on even when I shut off the power supply switch and unplug my PC completely from the wall. The light stayed on for over
Industry Apart from radio presets (ya miserable git, it doesn''t take that much effort to redo them, lol), the only issue I ever get when I remove the battery is my "double" sunroof forgets what button does
Industry 3) laptop does work with battery removed and AC cord is of course connected. I think this is strange. Assume the cord is healthy. I would guess that regardless of whether a) there is battery charge or not and the battery is in place, b) the battery is removed alltogether from the laptop or not c) the battery is faulty but still placed in
Industry I understand that your notebook charging light is on and the battery drains even if the notebook is shut down, I am glad to assist you. I have a few steps listed below that
Industry The battery icon displays an active connection, 100% charge and the LED light on the charger itself is staying on at at all times (not flashing) but no matter what I do, the second that I disconnect the power supply, it shuts down and displays a low battery icon. Any ideas how to fix this issue for a computer that''s barely a year old?
Industry the battery supplies power when there is no power. with atx, there is always power since it is soft-off, which means a 5VDC line is always going to the mobo unless your ps is off (some atx pses come with a real off switch). it''s that 5vdc signal that allows us to turn on the computer with the keyboard. it is also the reason why some optical mice stay on if the ps2 port
Industry Battery light on all the time: Battery is holding charge (Changed the battery for another just to be sure), alternator charging at 14v. Car runs and starts fine but am concerned that something is a miss. There seemed to be no answers above, so just wondering if someone can shine some light on this one? Car is a 2002 Laguna 2.2 diesel manual.
Industry It should only be on, obviously, when the battery is being charged. But when I''m running strictly on battery and the power supply is unplugged, the light is on. Even weirder is when the computer is shut off, the light is still on. The only way I can get the light to turn off is by removing the battery. The battery charges fine, BTW.
Industry While connected to the power adapter, press the power button for 6 seconds, then release the power button. The light should stop blinking. Now turn on the laptop by pressing the power button. If that does not do the trick, unplug power adapter, remove the battery & press the power button for 20 seconds.
Industry Normally that light would stay on until the power supply is unplugged from the wall. The laptop would NOT run off of the old power supply anymore. If it were a battery issue, and not a power supply issue, then the laptop should have run off of the power supply. When I got the new power supply, I was able to boot the computer up. I was able to
Industry I removed the battery from the laptop and plugged it in. No difference, it instantly drops to 0 voltage. So it appears the power supply comes on, but gets turned off instantly when
Industry I have a 2005 sl500 with 87k. Red battery light stays on. Trunk battery showing alternator charging and it reads 14 some, but starter battery shows 11 some. I checked power to alternator cable and it''s there. Checked
Industry 1. Shutdown the pc & unplug from the power supply. 2. Just remove the battery. 3. Press the power button on the laptop for 30 Sec to 2 Min. 4. Bring it back the battery, Then try to turn it on without plugged in.
Industry I thought it was the battery, so I ran it with the battery removed, but it still happened. I was very sure it might have been the old and worn hdd, and replaced it with a brand new ssd, but the problem still occurs. This is fairly recent, because I have been using my laptop extensively over the past 8 years and never had this until the past year.
Industry Just submitted ticket for failed power supply on my NAS. The first issue of any failure of any kind. Posted copy of ticket info. below. Was rudely awoken by my UPS (but ever so grateful, thanks BatteryHal) audible and mechanical switching sounds, opened server room door turned on light and I was visually occupied with fresh electrical smoke haze and the electrical
Industry It also allows the battery to manage it self. it will stop providing any power at all once it reaches a level too low for it to be OK for the battery, it also prevents the cells from being over charged, and unless you have a really cheap laptop, should monitor the heat to prevent death by laptop. li-ion cells them selves are fine be charged little bits here and there, and last
Industry Almost all critical systems have an emergency temporary power system, and most high power equipment takes time to shut down - they have large capacitors storing energy. Unplug your laptop power supply and watch how long it takes the power light on the supply to go out. That is the capacitors discharging. –
Industry When I hold the PSU/Cooler button under the green light of the power supply, the Power Button of the Desktop goes blinking orange and inside at the motherboard is still the orange light beside RAM for power supply active. If I press the same button on the PSU nothing happens, if I hold the power button it goes off.
Industry Remove all the externally connected devices and cables including the battery. Hold the power button for about a minute and release the power button. Connect only the power cable and power on the PC. Check if the issue persists. Keep us posted to help you better.
Industry The part that changed from ac to DC is a power supply. This is the brick part of your phone charger or the brick part of most electronics but the power supply can be inside the device too like with ps4/ps5 and tvs. The power supply has a capacitor inside and a capacitor is sorta like a battery. This is what has the power.
How to solve it: 1. Shutdown the pc & unplug from the power supply. 2. Just remove the battery. 3. Press the power button on the laptop for 30 Sec to 2 Min. 4. Bring it back the battery, Then try to turn it on without plugged in. Was this reply helpful? Yes No An Unexpected Error has occurred.
@filbert is spot on. The fact that the light goes out means a short somewhere in the items he mentioned. When you unplug the adapter from the wall then plug it back in you are resetting the adapter. Well I suspect it's not the power supply.
There is likely a fault with at least one of three items: It's a process of elimination to figure out where the problem lies, or at least where it doesn't lie. For example, if your AC adapter is recognized and works on another Dell laptop, then the problem is likely your charging jack or charging circuit.
When I first plug in the power supply to the wall, it comes on, the blue light on the tip comes on, and when I check it has the proper voltage (just over 19 volts). It stays working with voltage on the tip as long as I leave it plugged into the wall, even when I move the plug around and move the wire looking for a short. It's fine.
If that second Dell AC adapter works, then the fault is likely with your AC adapter. If it doesn't work, then the fault is likely with the jack or the circuit. The jack is a relatively inexpensive item that is not difficult to replace for someone experienced in working on laptops.
